This is definitely a good question to answer and clarify so that prospective users can know if this is for them and so that they’ll know what to expect.
Technical requirements
We are definitely building Corri for everyone, globally. Unfortunately for now though, Corri is for users who hold North American, European (UK + EU) financial institutions. To clarify, if you live in Asia or South America but you bank with North American / European financial institutions, then you can use Corri.
For all other regions/continents, we’re working hard to support as many continents as possible!
Ok, now in terms of financial attitude…
Someone who wants to exit the rat race
We’re looking for someone who is just…”done with it”: done with capitalism, done with lifestyle inflation, done with living paycheck to paycheck. Someone who has recognized and got to the point of “this is pointless. I’m just working and earning just to spend on stupid shit. I can never get ahead”.
This person must have tried different things already too. Maybe they tried to out-earn their expenses, arbitraging which currency they/earn spend, and all the other creative and productive ways to get ahead. Those are great, but in the end you can’t escape the fact that you should be able to be on top of how much you spend vs how much you save and spend (and Corri does that for you).
Someone who is not afraid anymore to look at their finance dead in the eye, accept what it is, and move forward with excitement and anticipation
It’s for someone who realizes that one can’t get ahead without financial planning and understanding one’s financial activities. Conversely, we’re not just blanket-promoting Corri to everyone since “everyone deals with money”.
We understand that Personal Finance is indeed “personal” and “emotional”. So yes, we do recognize that there are some people who are not ready yet. What do we mean? Maybe some people still think “out of mind, out of sight”, or someone who knows that once their financial standing is laid out, that it’ll be a sad picture.
Look, we’re not here to make you feel bad about your expenses. True to our nature, our goal (and the main purpose of our founder why he built this) is: “Everyone wants to do things in the future, whether they want to travel, save for a house/retirement, or any other big life milestones. Things cost. That’s why we built Corri so you’ll be able to plan how to get to that point and be able to do the things you want to do“
Someone who understands the quote: “if you want to go fast, go alone. If you want to go far, go in groups”
Our team is constantly improving Corri. We’ve matured and we’re not in the business nature of trying to be too big, too fast, and then things get out of hand and fall apart.
We build things in a reasonable pace and more importantly, we’re building it with you. It’s not just a transaction wherein “you give us money, and we give a polished, finish product”. We’re aiming for that sure, but right now we’re actively listening to your feedback. We pride ourselves in shipping features, fixes asap so we can get feedback and we can focus on what our precious users truly need.
Our prospective users understand that we’re in the beginning stages. We’re building the foundation. Sure at times it may look scrappy and “unpolished” but they know and can see the potential and they can’t wait to grow with Corri!
Someone who likes seeing their numbers
For this user with this background, it’s not so much of what they “need” but rather what they want.
Corri is perfect too for financial advisors, financial planners, or even individuals who just want to see their financial numbers regularly. These types of people enjoy regularly tracking their: amount of transactions, savings rate, debt-income ratio, rate of investment, finding seasonal patterns, etc. (all these are future features btw 😉 ) .
Eventually our users find the joy and advantage of looking at their finances with their kinder and creative eyes. We can’t wait for everyone to get to this stage! At the same time we recognize that there are people who have this nature as their comfort zone. We see you. We love numbers too, and we’re here to help.
Someone who NEEDS mental and/or emotional relief
As we’ve said, “personal finance” is personal and emotional. Personally, I think this is the most important and where users can find the most relief.
Maybe you’re the person who’s worried about their expenses and their income. Maybe you’ve matured up already and you’ve thought of the future life milestones (e.g.: retirement, dog dying, or maintaining a reasonable travel lifestyle indefinitely). Maybe you’re trying to overcome generational trauma and/or generational scarcity mindset. Maybe you’re simply just trying to correct the bad financial habits of your parents. Or hey, on a positive note you’re planning the future lifestyle and quality of living that you want in the future and you’ve realized that in order to get there you need to straighten out your finances.
This. Is. For. You.
